Michigan Based Photographer!

About Me
Amanda Scott, Owner

I’ve always believed that photography is more than a job—it’s a calling to preserve what matters, and to lift up others in the process.

What started over a decade ago as a creative outlet quickly grew into a full-time career capturing families, children, and life’s biggest moments here in rural Michigan. But I didn’t stop at the shutter. I fell in love with the why behind the work—the legacy of portraits, the emotional weight of memory, and the craft of doing it well.

As my business grew, so did my passion for sharing what I’ve learned. Today, I’m proud to be a photographer educator, helping others find confidence, creativity, and sustainability in their own businesses.

In 2020, I became the Director of the Great Lakes Institute of Photography, where I help lead one of the Midwest’s most respected educational events for photographers—curating classes, supporting speakers, and championing community and professional growth.
And in 2023, I earned my Photographic Craftsman degree through Professional Photographers of America—an honor that recognizes both photographic excellence and dedication to teaching.
Through it all, I stay grounded in the why: the families I serve, the students I cheer on, and the belief that this work matters. Because behind every portrait is a story. And behind every story is a life worth remembering.
